A Difficult Start at Stamford Bridge
Alejandro Garnacho has had a difficult season since arriving at Chelsea on the final day of the September transfer window. 21-year-old winger has only started 21 of the London club's 51 games. A modest number compared to his 77 starts in his last two seasons at Manchester United.
Across all competitions, Garnacho has scored 8 goals and provided 4 assists. But half of those came against lower-league opponents in domestic cups. Notably, he has only scored one Premier League goal for Chelsea.
Currently, Pedro Neto is the preferred choice on the left flank, while Chelsea have also signed Jamie Gittens from Borussia Dortmund (although he is currently suffering from a hamstring injury). This has further reduced Garnacho's playing opportunities.
Despite his strong desire to join Chelsea, and even his agent visiting Stamford Bridge early last year. Garnacho now faces the prospect of having to find a new club after less than a season.
Regrets and Career Turning Points
In a recent interview, Garnacho admitted to having behaved inappropriately towards the end of his time at Manchester United. Particularly after the Europa League final defeat against Tottenham and his conflict with manager Ruben Amorim.
Player was dropped from the squad, embroiled in controversy over his attitude. And even drew attention for posting a picture of himself wearing an Aston Villa shirt with Marcus Rashford's name on it. However, Garnacho believes it was just "a moment in his life" and insists he has no regrets about what happened.
Nevertheless, with Chelsea considering selling him this summer. Future of the young Argentinian talent at Stamford Bridge is becoming more uncertain than ever.
